From on-site survey to customized solutions: Solway provides one-stop solutions for upgrading road lighting on tropical islands.
In early 2026, we partnered with our local engineering client based in Southeast Asia. Our joint team conducted on-site site surveys, collected detailed local traffic lighting requirements and working condition statistics on this tropical island, then co-designed a customized full-set municipal road lighting solution tailored for the island.
A total of 120 units of Solway ISPL-GW Vertical Solar Poles were officially installed and put into operation across the whole municipal road network. We optimized all technical parameters specially for island urban road driving & pedestrian scenarios:

• Adopted professional Type II light distribution design for roadway illumination, delivering even light coverage without dark zones, fully compliant with urban arterial & residential road lighting standards;
• 140W vertical solar panels, maximizing solar energy harvesting under tropical island abundant sunshine conditions to ensure stable & high-efficiency power conversion all year round;
• The overall luminous efficacy reaches up to 6,000 lumens, offering bright, clear nighttime visibility for road users.

This off-grid vertical solar lighting system eliminates traditional grid cabling work, recurring electricity bills and complicated cable maintenance costs. It consistently supplies safe, reliable and comfortable nighttime outdoor lighting for local citizens, accelerating the island’s transition to a low-carbon smart city.
